HISTORY
AimBank was originally chartered on September 19, 1925 as The First
National Bank of Littlefield. For a short time in the 1920's, the bank
was housed in the historic Yellowhouse Building at 401 Phelps Avenue,
before moving to 337 Phelps Avenue. It was in this building that Major
George Littlefield planned and developed the City of Littlefield while
managing his other ranching and banking interests. The bank survived
both the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl days of the 1930's due to
great perseverance.
In the summer of 1945, J.T. Lee and Don Bell, two bankers from Clovis,
NM, purchased controlling interest in the bank, and it was subsequently
owned and managed by these families for the next 58 years. In 2003, the
bank was converted to a state-chartered bank in connection with a change
in control, and an increase in capitalization. Ownership of the bank is
now vested in AIM Bancshares, Inc., a bank holding company, in turn
owned by a group of local individuals from Hockley, Lamb and Lubbock
Counties.
Since 2003, the bank has expanded both its product line and number of
banking facilities. Today, debit cards, Internet banking, telephone
banking, and a variety of deposit and loan products make banking with
AimBank easy. Also, we have brought added convenience to our markets
with 2 banking locations in Littlefield, and one each in Levelland and
Lubbock.
While we are proud of our heritage, we are also committed to advances in
technology and ever-changing customer needs. We offer the very latest in
banking products, while keeping in touch with our hometown roots. We
believe these things, along with our friendly staff, result in
exceptional customer service - which distinguishes us from our
competitors.
AimBank is where “genuine hometown banking” lives.
